The Black Dragon Portable Mini Cable V2 is our most durable mini cable. This cable is appropriate for desktop and home use where flexibility is not a concern. Soundwise, the Black Dragon V2 offers sonic improvements over the V1. It's a stranded, silver-plated copper design that marries the attributes of our Silver Dragon IEM cables and Black Dragon IEM V1 cables. This means you'll enjoy great detail, clarity, and soundstage along some midrange warmth, bottom-end weight, and a smooth top end. We like to call the Black Dragon V2 our "do it all" cable. The Black Dragon is warm and smooth with a musical presentation. Copper strands enhance the body, shape, and immediacy of the music. The detail and expansiveness of the Black Dragon make it a flexible fit where a broad range of musical genres are played. It can also improve bass frequencies on bass-light headphones.
The smooth, musical quality makes it a perfect fit for headphones that tend to sound a bit edgy or bright. Despite its warmth, the Black Dragon does not have a laid back, lush sound. It is much closer to neutral, making it a very natural sounding cable.

Cable Design
We had many requests from customers who had systems where the Silver Dragon just wasn't an ideal fit. Therefore, we set out to make the best possible copper cable. The Black Dragon V2 is what we ended up developing, and it truly exceeded our wildest dreams. It is an extremely smooth, transparent cable without too much warmth. For years, our hearing tastes have always driven us in the direction of silver. We have never quite enjoyed the sound of copper as much as we enjoy the sound of silver. Well, that has now changed with the Black Dragon.
We tried to build a cable that gave the great detail and presence of silver but also provided the smooth, jazzy sound of copper. The Black Dragon does just that, and only your ears can be the judge. We went back to our old copper version of the Blue Dragon and greatly expanded on it. We also took what we learned from the Silver Dragon speaker cables and we developed just the right ratio of different size stranding or geometry to optimize the sound. What we ended up with was the same geometry as the Blue Dragon but with an increased size in gauge and we switched from solid core copper to a special stranded geometry. The stranding is all 99.9999% high quality low crystalline structure pure copper. We continued to use a Teflon coating, as it is an obvious best dielectric.
